Assistant Store Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a full-time Assistant Manager to help lead its Houston store. You will support the Store Manager in reaching sales targets, recruiting and developing people, while driving sales and building lasting customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in meeting the sales plan and comp sales goals
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative team
• Promote new products, use social media and offer benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup to engage customers
• Run an operationally sound business with a balance of operations, delegation and customer-first selling
• Watch shrink, loss prevention, payroll hours and associate schedules
• Work with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time
• Build a team of high-performing, customer-focused associates

Required profile

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is an advantage
• Able to move around the store, merchandise product with approved equipment and pack and unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing retail environment
