About the role
The Louisiana State University School of Music seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of French horn to begin in Fall 2026. The position joins a vibrant, collaborative faculty and offers the chance to shape the next generation of professional horn players.
Key responsibilities
- Teach applied horn across all degree programs and deliver brass‑specific courses.
- Coach chamber music ensembles and advise graduate students.
- Recruit and mentor promising student musicians.
- Maintain a national and international performance profile.
- Participate in faculty governance and contribute to the School’s artistic community.
Required profile
- Doctorate in horn performance or equivalent professional experience.
- Distinguished record as an active performer.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching diverse student skill sets.
