Assistant Professor of Agricultural Business/Economics

About the role

West Texas A&M University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to join its Department of Agricultural Sciences. The position focuses on agricultural business and economics, supporting both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a minimum of nine credit hours per long semester, in face‑to‑face and/or online formats.
• Develop and deliver courses in agricultural economics, covering areas such as production management, finance, international trade, policy, and marketing.
• Establish a research agenda in agricultural economics/agribusiness and secure extramural funding.
• Advise M.S. and Ph.D. students and mentor graduate research.
• Publish scholarly work in refereed journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with industry partners, other universities, and research agencies.
• Foster employment opportunities for students and contribute to departmental service.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agribusiness, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
• Working knowledge and experience in crop and livestock industries.
