Assistant Nurse Manager – Complex Medicine Unit

About the role

The 5th Floor Complex Medicine Unit at Marymount Hospital is a newly reopened 12‑bed telemetry unit caring for adult medical‑surgical patients with multiple comorbidities. The Assistant Nurse Manager works nights, supports staff, and helps shape the growing unit while delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction and support to unit staff, supervise admissions and conduct patient assessments.
• Evaluate and document patient progress and facilitate nursing program development and evaluation.
• Assist with policy and procedure implementation to ensure efficient health service delivery.
• Serve as liaison between manager, staff and other organizational areas.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting patient care delivery on the unit.
• Prepare work schedules ensuring adequate coverage.
• Participate in quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
• Assist in orienting new personnel and delivering continuing education and in‑service programs.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience with strong clinical knowledge and skills.
• Preferred: prior leadership experience.
