Assistant Front Office Manager

About the role

The Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Front Office Manager to lead its guest services team. As the face of front desk operations, the role champions service standards, inspires the team and creates seamless guest experiences, balancing operational precision with a warm, welcoming approach.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Front Office team and ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
• Lead and mentor team members to maintain high performance, morale and adherence to service standards.
• Manage payroll processes, including scheduling, timecard edits and approval of time-off requests.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement strategies to improve satisfaction and loyalty.
• Coordinate room allocations and work with housekeeping to meet guest preferences.
• Develop and deliver training programs for team growth and operational excellence.
• Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external inquiries.
• Conduct audits and keep accurate financial records, including payment processing and performance reporting.
• Partner with leadership on initiatives to promote hotel services and improve efficiency.
• Respond to emergencies professionally, ensuring guest and team safety, and attend mandatory training and meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience required.
• At least two years of guest service experience in hotel hospitality preferred.
• At least one year in a guest service leadership role preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods required.

Required skills

• Experience with a Property Management System preferred; Opera system preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis in a hotel setting preferred.
