About the role
The Assistant Director of Business Operations supports the Associate Athletic Director of Business & Internal Operations in managing the day‑to‑day financial and logistical functions of the athletics department. This staff position is based on the Commerce, Texas campus and focuses on procurement, cash handling, travel coordination, and revenue processing for university sports programs.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily procurement, purchasing, and travel arrangements for the athletics department.
- Manage all deposit and cash‑collection activities, ensuring accurate processing of revenue.
- Coordinate creation of purchase orders and processing of invoices in compliance with university policies.
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records, supporting audit and reporting requirements.
- Supervise departmental inventory and asset tracking, including equipment and uniform management.
- Collaborate with the business office to support equipment, uniform, and related operational needs.
Required profile
- Experience in athletic or higher‑education business operations, preferably in procurement or finance.
- Strong understanding of cash handling, invoicing, and financial record‑keeping.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work closely with senior administrators.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
