Applied AI Engineer

About the role

As an Applied AI Engineer at Rowspace, you will bridge cutting‑edge AI research with real‑world financial applications, shaping how the platform extracts and surfaces critical insights for investors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and adapt state‑of‑the‑art AI research to build systems that understand financial context and business concepts.
• Design retrieval pipelines that synthesize insights from unstructured sources such as PDFs, emails, and presentations, handling conflicts intelligently.
• Build agentic workflows enabling AI to reason about financial relationships, perform benchmarking, and conduct comparative analysis.
• Construct and maintain knowledge graphs that capture complex financial relationships and market dynamics.
• Create evaluation frameworks to measure and improve AI performance across investment research, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring tasks.
• Deploy and operate production systems end‑to‑end, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, AI research, or applied AI engineering.
• Strong background in large language models (LLMs), retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) systems, and agentic AI workflows.
• Interest or understanding of financial markets, investment processes, or quantitative finance.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate research into business value.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with retrieval systems, embeddings, and multi‑modal data processing.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and Node (or similar full‑stack technologies).
• Designing evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for AI systems.
