Application Developer I – Public Health

About the role
The Department of Public Health is seeking an Application Developer I to join its IT team. Under limited supervision, you will work with senior developers to design, code, test, and document complex applications that support public health administration systems.
Key responsibilities
- Write, test, and document agency computer programs in collaboration with senior developers.
- Develop and implement specialized programs to enhance administration software.
- Integrate and monitor back‑end system processes, stored procedures, and third‑party solutions.
- Provide technical support and backup for assigned administration applications.
- Ensure seamless system integration and adherence to IT application development standards.
- Respond to application‑related service calls and resolve customer‑reported issues.
- Prepare and maintain system documentation and project communications.
- Participate in special projects, travel when required, and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
Required profile
- High school diploma with work experience in computer programming, or an associate’s/bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to upload unofficial transcripts; official copies required before hiring.
