AHA Program Instructor PRN

About the role

The AHA Program Instructor supports the Resuscitation Simulation Department by coordinating classroom delivery of American Heart Association courses. This PRN position works three shifts per month, providing flexible, on‑site education to healthcare professionals in the Florida region.

Key responsibilities

• Reserve and organize classrooms and equipment for scheduled AHA courses.
• Ensure instructor, equipment, classroom instruction, and student ratios meet AHA and Cleveland Clinic standards.
• Apply adult learning techniques and adapt training materials to competency‑based education.
• Deliver interactive instruction using audiovisual hardware and software.
• Evaluate and document trainee performance using program‑approved formats.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent licensure.
• Current state licensure as RN, RRT, EMTP, or MD.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Four years of experience providing BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) proficiency.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) proficiency.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge.
• Use of audiovisual hardware and software for training.
