Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine

About the role

The Medical Assistant will join the Internal Medicine team at Cleveland Clinic’s Martin Health facility in Port St Lucie. Working days from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, you will help create a welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors while supporting clinical and administrative workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Room patients, process in‑basket items, and perform administrative tasks such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Gather and update health‑maintenance information, identify medication changes, update allergy data, collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition and administer specific medications under provider direction.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program or equivalent military medical training (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain during new‑hire period) and completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.
