Agency Instructor I – Confined Space (Water/Wastewater)

About the role

The Agency Instructor I provides classroom, online, and field training on confined‑space entry within the Water & Wastewater program. The role combines instruction, curriculum development, and equipment management to ensure safe and effective learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver adult‑focused training on confined‑space entry procedures, both in‑person and virtually.
• Maintain and set up the confined‑space entry trailer and associated safety equipment.
• Assist in creating or updating curriculum content to meet learner needs.
• Provide technical assistance and subject‑matter expertise on confined‑space and water utility systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• At least three years of hands‑on confined‑space entry experience in water utility environments.
• Valid motor vehicle license (or obtain within 30 days) and Class A CDL (or obtain within 180 days).
• One year of adult‑training experience or 60 hours of classroom instruction, or completion of approved instructor‑training courses.
