Graduate Academic Advisor III

About the role

The Graduate Academic Advisor III provides academic advising to MD students, supporting their educational and career goals, managing records, developing advising materials, and coordinating events.

Key responsibilities

• Advise graduate students on program requirements, academic processes, and career planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, monitor degree requirements, and track residency interviews.
• Develop and maintain advising materials, hold group and individual meetings, and coordinate advising events such as the Peer Tutoring Program and annual elective fair.
• Assist students with registration, adds/drops, withdrawals, and curriculum changes, and manage enrollment rosters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of related experience in higher education, advising, or related fields.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field and five years of advising experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Familiarity with student information systems, degree planning, and degree audits.
• Ability to multitask, present information clearly, and maintain confidentiality.
