Graduate Academic Advisor III

About the role

The Graduate Academic Advisor III provides comprehensive academic advising to MD students, supporting their educational and career goals, managing records, and coordinating advising events. This position also assists student organizations and contributes to program coordination within the Office of Student Affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Advise graduate students on program requirements, academic processes, and career planning; monitor progress and degree completion.
• Develop and maintain advising materials, coordinate group meetings, individual appointments, and advising events such as the annual elective fair.
• Manage student registration, enrollment rosters, and assist with adds/drops, withdrawals, and curriculum changes.
• Oversee the Peer Tutoring Program and support residency interview tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least three years of related experience in higher education advising.
• Strong written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Experience using student information systems, degree planning tools, and degree audit software.
