Associate Director, Partnerships and Research Development

About the role

The Associate Director for Partnerships and Research Development Engagement serves as the primary liaison between the Texas A&M University System Research Development Office and its member institutions. This senior position involves frequent travel across the system to strengthen research capacity, cultivate partnerships, and support proposal development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage assessment frameworks, performance metrics, and strategic dashboards for research development.
• Conduct portfolio analyses, benchmark against peer institutions, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Serve as the main research development representative for assigned campuses, conducting on‑site visits and building institutional partnerships.
• Facilitate proposal development, coordinate workshops, training programs, and faculty engagement activities.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
• At least eight years of progressive experience in research proposal development, research administration, or project management.
• Demonstrated success in engaging faculty and stakeholders across multiple institutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with research office systems or collaboration platforms.
