Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/CNS) – Wound Clinic PRN

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Wound Clinic on a PRN basis, providing 4‑8 hours per week of specialized wound care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and order appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Assess, grade, and treat wounds, including debridement and biopsy procedures.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within scope of licensure.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in rounds, and ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients on disease management, treatment plans, and wound care.
• Participate in quality monitoring, research, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Current licensure as NP, PA, or CNS in the applicable state(s) with required certifications (BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable).
• National certification for the respective advanced practice role.
• Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of the hospital.
• Wound certification or ability to obtain it is mandatory.

Required skills

• Wound assessment and grading.
• Debridement techniques.
• Biopsy procedures.
• Knowledge of various wound dressings and appropriate application.
• Hyperbaric therapy experience (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
