Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Wound Care I

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Wound Care Center at Tradition Hospital. This full‑time position provides patient‑centered care for acute and chronic wounds within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including history, physical exam, and diagnostic testing.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans, performing procedures such as debridement, dressing changes, compression therapy, and application of advanced wound care products.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to coordinate multidisciplinary care and monitor healing progress.
• Educate patients and families on wound management, prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited APRN program (MSN required) or an A.R.C.‑approved Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as an NP (with RN license) or PA, including national certification.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program as required by the work setting.
• Ability to work with a collaborating physician and meet credentialing requirements.

Required skills

• Wound assessment and debridement techniques.
• Dressing selection and changes, compression therapy.
• Use of advanced wound care products.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (imaging, labs).
• Prescribing antibiotics, analgesics, and other wound‑related medications.
• Basic and advanced life support (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP).
