Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – PRN Hospital Medicine

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high‑acuity hospital medicine care at Medina Hospital on a PRN (as‑needed) basis. The role involves delivering advanced nursing or medical care in collaboration with physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Perform routine and specialized procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, bone‑marrow aspiration, biopsies, IV starts, spinal taps, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state prescriptive authority and CCF policy.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate patient discharge, and ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient education on disease management, preventive health, and treatment plans.
• Assist with research follow‑up, data analysis, and quality monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate clinical experience in hospital medicine.
• Current state licensure as an APRN (RN + APRN) or PA with national certification.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a supervising physician.
• Willingness to take call and work occasional off‑hours shifts.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as applicable.
• Proficiency in performing and interpreting common laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic studies.
• Competence in procedural skills: suturing, wound care, injections, immunizations, bone‑marrow aspiration, biopsies, IV insertion, spinal tap, thoracentesis, paracentesis.
