Advanced Practice Provider – Neuro Radiology (Acute Care NP/PA)

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider—either a certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant—to join the Neuro Radiology team at Akron General Medical Center. The role supports the Cerebrovascular Center, providing acute‑care services in neuro‑interventional radiology.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the neuro interventional radiology department.
• Conduct peri‑operative patient evaluations and provide inpatient consults and follow‑ups.
• Assist in the operating room with neurovascular and acute stroke cases.
• Perform selected procedures such as lumbar punctures and subarachnoid drain placements, and serve as first assist on neuro‑interventional radiology procedures.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (RN license required) or Physician Assistant in the applicable state.
• National certification for the respective advanced practice role.
• Experience in neurology, surgical, or acute‑care settings preferred.
• Commitment to a Monday‑Friday schedule (7:00 am‑4:00 pm) with flexibility based on business needs.

Required skills

• Neurointerventional radiology procedural skills (lumbar puncture, subarachnoid drain placement).
• Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications (BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP as required).
• Ability to perform and interpret routine laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic tests.
• Proficiency in patient education and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
