Advanced Practice Provider – Hematology Oncology Outpatient

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP, PA, or CNS) to deliver outpatient and consult‑based hematology‑oncology care at Akron General Medical Center. The position works day‑shift (8:00 am‑5:30 pm) and collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive histories, perform physical examinations, and order/interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests to develop diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state licensure and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Educate patients about disease processes, treatments, side‑effects, and safety precautions.
• Participate in medical team rounds, coordinate referrals, and ensure continuity of care across specialties.
• Contribute to quality monitoring, discharge planning, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• May serve as a clinical preceptor, assist with research data collection, and support professional development of the care team.

Required profile

• Current licensure as an NP, PA, or CNS in the applicable state(s) with national certification.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA program; MSN or equivalent required within three years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, or ATLS may be required based on setting.
• Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and governing hospital bodies.
