Advanced Practice Provider – Acute Care NP/PA, Thoracic Surgery

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to support the East Region Cardiothoracic Surgery team. The role covers both inpatient and outpatient services across multiple hospitals, including Marymount Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive histories, physical exams, and order/interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
• Assist in the operating room, perform credentialed procedures, and prescribe medications within state and institutional guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate patient care, and ensure continuity between specialties.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatments, and medication safety.
• Support quality monitoring, discharge planning, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an A.R.C.‑approved PA program or an Acute Care‑certified Nurse Practitioner.
• Current state licensure to practice and prescribe, DEA registration, and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP/ATLS as applicable).
• Ability to work flexible day shifts, with no weekend or holiday coverage required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
