Advance Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Inpatient Float (PRN)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the inpatient float team at Fairview Hospital on a PRN basis. The role involves delivering primary and specialty care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting evidence‑based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical exams, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within state licensing and Cleveland Clinic policies.
• Participate in medical team rounds, coordinate patient care, and ensure continuity of care.
• Facilitate discharge planning, length‑of‑stay management, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients on disease processes, treatments, and medication side effects.

Required profile

• Graduate of an A.R.C.‑approved Physician Assistant program with a Master’s degree or higher.
• Current PA licensure, DEA registration, and certification through NCCPA.
• Valid Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or Advanced Trauma Life Support as required by the work setting.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced inpatient environment and use electronic medical records.
