Accountant 1-4 – SNAP/DDS Fraud Recovery Unit

About the role
The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking an Accountant (Level 1‑4) to lead the analysis, classification, and reconciliation of SNAP/DDS fraud recoveries and Treasury Offset Program collections. You will ensure accurate accounting across state and federal funding streams and maintain audit‑ready records within the LaGov system.
Key responsibilities
- Perform complex reconciliations of high‑volume cash transactions for SNAP and DDS fraud recovery.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for federal financial reporting and grant monitoring.
- Process and monitor LaGov transactions, resolve coding errors, and ensure proper fund classification.
- Maintain audit‑ready records and respond to data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners across DCFS, SSA, FNS, and LDH Program Integrity.
Required profile
- Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking, OR equivalent education/experience combinations as listed.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester hours in accounting or a related field; advanced degree or CPA license is acceptable.
- Ability to work independently on high‑volume, detail‑oriented tasks.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the LaGov accounting system.
