Senior Stress Engineer

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft seeks a Senior Stress Engineer to join the Engineering department in Atlanta, GA. You will work as a Static Stress analyst supporting the development of aircraft structures, performing complex static analyses for both metallic and non‑metallic parts.

Key responsibilities

• Autonomously perform complex static analyses to verify structural integrity and support certification activities.
• Document analyses for trade studies, detail drawing sign‑off, and weight‑reduction efforts.
• Liaise with Design, Fatigue and other departments to develop optimal design solutions.
• Mentor less‑experienced analysts and lead preparation of technical presentations.
• Act as the key technical contact on contracts and projects, interacting with senior external personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil or related engineering with emphasis on structural design and mechanics of materials.
• At least 9 years of experience in static stress analysis of airframe structures.
• Authorized to work in the US and familiar with Airbus structures.
• Ability to work onsite (approximately 90% of the time) and meet physical requirements for office and production environments.

Required skills

• Static stress analysis using hand calculations and computer techniques.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
• Knowledge of technical documentation, trade‑study analysis, and certification processes.
