Senior Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft seeks a Senior Structure Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Analysis Engineer to support the airline in‑service fleet with structural repairs and quality justifications. You will develop repair solutions that meet airworthiness requirements and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality, certified engineering repair solutions for airlines and internal customers within defined timeframes.
• Perform complex fatigue and damage tolerance (F&DT) analyses on metallic parts using hand calculations and computer methods.
• Prepare structural justification and certification documentation for in‑service fleet support.
• Mentor less‑experienced F&DT engineers and ensure methods reflect ongoing developments.
• Collaborate with Design, Static Stress and other Airbus departments to optimise repair designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) with strong emphasis on structural design and analysis.
• Minimum 9 years of analysis experience in airframe design/repair programs.
• Experience with metallic and/or composite airframe structural repair.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with G‑Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) – a plus.
• Coding skills in Python – a plus.
