Senior Design Engineer – Aircraft Structures

About the role

Airbus Commercial Aircraft seeks a Senior Design Engineer to develop high‑quality repair solutions for the airline in‑service fleet. You will work on both metallic and composite structures, ensuring aircraft return to airworthy condition.

Key responsibilities

• Create integrated, certified engineering repair solutions within defined timelines.
• Review damage reports from MROs and develop quality repair designs.
• Collaborate with F&DT, Stress and other Airbus departments to optimise designs.
• Obtain and utilise Repair Approval Technical Signatory and Repair Solution Signatory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with strong structural design emphasis.
• At least nine years of design experience on airframe structures, including composites.
• Experience in MRO/fleet engineering and MRB processes.
• Ability to work independently and lead small technical teams.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 and/or 3DExperience.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
• Knowledge of repair documentation (SRM, NTM, IPC).
