Senior AI Solutions Architect (Remote)

About the role

VetsEZ is looking for a Senior AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise AI solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The role focuses on the Joint Longitudinal Viewer AI Search and Summarization initiative, delivering a secure, governed AI‑assisted search and summarization MVP in a FedRAMP‑compliant AWS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement scalable, secure AI architectures using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Design AI pipelines that handle document access, vector search, prompt orchestration, and AI‑assisted summarization while complying with Federal cybersecurity and Responsible AI requirements.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and clinical teams to automate deployment, ensure interoperability (FHIR, HL7, CCD), and integrate AI services into clinician workflows.
• Provide technical leadership across the JLV contract, mentor engineers, and produce architecture documentation and design artifacts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years designing enterprise software solutions and 5+ years building cloud‑native architectures on AWS.
• Proven experience architecting AI/ML or Generative AI solutions, preferably with Amazon Bedrock or similar platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance.
