Senior Security Engineer - Data Security

About the role

Sigma is seeking a highly technical Senior Security Engineer to protect data across modern SaaS, cloud, endpoint, and analytics environments. The role focuses on engineering, automation, and AI‑driven solutions rather than relying solely on commercial tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain security platforms, services, APIs, and internal tooling that safeguard data across cloud, SaaS, endpoint, and analytics environments.
• Develop scalable solutions for data discovery, classification, governance, access controls, monitoring, and protection using modern engineering practices.
• Build and mature capabilities around CASB, DLP, DSPM, SSPM, insider risk, and data access governance.
• Drive automation of DLP engineering and operations by leveraging LLMs, agentic AI, and an automation‑first mindset.
• Partner with IT, Engineering, Privacy, Legal, and Business teams to enable secure productivity.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering, data security, or related cybersecurity roles.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a similar field.
• Strong software‑engineering mindset with experience building production‑grade tools and automation.
• Proven ability to evaluate build‑versus‑buy decisions and create scalable internal solutions.
