RN Operations Supervisor – OR/Surgical Services

About the role

The RN Operations Supervisor provides direct patient care and oversees nursing interventions within the operating room and surgical unit. This role coordinates, delegates, and supervises care delivered by nurses and patient care technicians, ensuring high‑quality, safe patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the operating room is clean, sterilized, and stocked with necessary supplies for safe procedures.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned nurses and technicians, managing staffing, scheduling, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with unit leadership, quality, safety, and experience teams to promote evidence‑based practice and patient safety.
• Address patient concerns pre‑surgery and adapt communication to respect privacy and individual needs.

Required profile

• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience (or 2 years LPN experience) in acute care; preferred 2 years RN experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Ability to work in stressful, fast‑paced environments and manage frequent interruptions.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Solid understanding of patient safety precautions and surgical operation procedures.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
