Rental Assistance Application Processor – ERAP Reviewer

About the role

The Rental Assistance Application Processor will evaluate Emergency Rental Assistance (ERAP) applications, verify eligibility, and coordinate with tenants and landlords to deliver pandemic‑related rental support. This onsite position reports to a Portfolio Manager and follows federal, state, and local guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review web‑based ERAP applications, determine eligibility, calculate assistance amounts, and prepare files for quality‑control review.
• Validate income, deductions, exemptions, and supporting documentation for authenticity.
• Communicate with applicants via phone and email to obtain missing information and advise on program regulations.
• Enter and maintain applicant data in the agency’s Yardi system and generate status reports.
• Participate in bi‑weekly team meetings to share best practices and improve workflow.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience processing rental assistance or similar eligibility determinations for state or federal programs.
• Prior experience as a Rental Assistant or ERAP reviewer/processor.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; background check required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience using the Yardi property‑management system.
