Maintenance Technician – The Alexandria

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will perform technical and mechanical work to ensure the property’s buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and making repairs according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and timely for proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Compliance with Greystar safety and risk‑management policies, including OSHA training and incident reporting.
• Ability to inspect contractor work for quality and specification adherence.
• Participation in routine property inspections to identify safety and maintenance concerns.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work rotating on‑call schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart on larger properties).
