Rehab Technician (PRN) at Ochsner Health Center

About the role

The Rehab Technician works under direct on‑premises supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist, providing therapeutic modality treatments, preparing therapy areas, and transporting patients safely. This PRN position supports patient care in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain work areas, order supplies, linen, and pharmaceuticals.
• Assist patients with therapeutic modalities as directed by the therapist.
• Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher in a safe, courteous manner.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, operability, and safety; follow infection‑control isolation techniques.
• Support office and front‑desk procedures and mentor new staff in the assigned area.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in healthcare sciences preferred.
• No prior work experience required; 5 years relevant experience or enrollment in a clinical program is preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties, including heavy lifting and exposure to blood/body fluids, with reasonable accommodations available.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
