About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the MedSurg unit on the St. Mary Campus. The RN will work day shifts providing direct patient care in a fast‑paced hospital environment. This full‑time position is part of Ochsner’s commitment to exceptional, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

Apply the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
Delegate and coordinate nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Educate patients and families, adapting communication to diverse cultural and religious needs.
Maintain compliance with federal, state and accreditation standards.

Required profile

Registered Nurse diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Current RN license in Louisiana.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
No prior experience required.

Required skills

Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and related software.
