Registered Nurse – Emergency Medicine (Mid-Level)

About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Medicine team in Slidell. This position provides leadership in patient care, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards while fostering a compassionate, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Analyze data and promote changes to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and individual preferences.
• Perform additional related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
