Regional Wound Care Nurse (Illinois)

About the role

Limitlessli is seeking a Regional Wound Care Nurse (RN) to serve as the subject matter expert for wound care across multiple sites in Illinois. This 1099 consultant position offers flexible scheduling, either full‑time or part‑time, with extensive travel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced wound assessments, staging, treatment planning and ongoing management for complex wounds.
• Deliver in‑person and virtual training programs, develop education materials and mentor nursing staff.
• Standardize wound care protocols, monitor metrics, and lead quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with directors of nursing, physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with federal and state standards.
• Travel regularly across Illinois to support multiple facilities and adjust schedule based on site needs.

Required profile

• Active RN license in good standing; wound‑care certification preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of wound‑care experience in post‑acute, SNF or long‑term care settings.
• Proven experience in staff education, program development and quality improvement.
• Ability to work independently, manage a regional schedule and travel extensively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of wound‑care products, treatments and regulatory requirements.
