QA Engineer

About the role

You will join zero-hash's growing QA function, working alongside engineers and SDETs. The role involves owning test planning, functional and exploratory testing, and user acceptance testing across the product stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, and execute functional and exploratory test cases for API‑ and SDK‑based product flows.
• Perform regression testing, support release‑readiness, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and SDETs to translate acceptance criteria into concrete test scenarios.
• Run and formalize User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across product and engineering.

Required profile

• 5+ years of QA or test engineering experience, preferably in fintech, payments, or regulated API‑driven environments.
• Strong grasp of QA processes across the SDLC, including test planning, data setup, execution, defect management, and release sign‑off.
• Ability to read API specifications and test REST/JSON APIs directly.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, distributed team across time zones.

Required skills

• API testing tools such as Postman or cURL.
• B​DD‑style test scenario writing (Gherkin/Cucumber).
• Automation frameworks like Playwright or Selenium.
• Programming/scripting in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
• SQL for data verification.
• Git‑based workflows (GitHub).
• Jira and Confluence for test planning and tracking.
• Test management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
