Public Health Registered Nurse 3 – Georgia Department of Public Health

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Health seeks a Public Health Registered Nurse (PHRN) Level 3 to deliver advanced nursing services in HIV medical care and community health programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with established nurse protocols.
• Offer triage services to patients seeking HIV medical care in a clinic setting.
• Perform patient assessments, deliver treatment, education and make referrals as needed.
• Manage a defined caseload of patients through medical case management.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives such as immunization clinics and health fairs.
• Draw blood for laboratory tests and administer vaccines, flu shots, and other injectable medications.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience with completion of a PHN course within one year of hire, or two years of experience at the PH Registered Nurse 2 level.

Required skills

• Experience with HIV/AIDS medical care.
• Experience working with Ryan White clinics or patients.
• Proficiency with the eClinicalWorks electronic health record system.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
