Senior Healthcare Interface Engineer (Remote)

About the role

VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Healthcare Interface Engineer to lead integration work on a large federal government healthcare modernization project. The position is 100% remote, but candidates must reside within the continental United States.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support secure, scalable integrations among EHR, claims, public‑health, and partner systems using HL7 v2, MLLP gateways, Apache NiFi, and Open Integration Engine.
• Configure and maintain MLLP gateways, NiFi pipelines, and adapters, performing data mapping, transformation, routing, testing, and production support.
• Troubleshoot complex interface and data‑flow issues, documenting solutions with cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate autonomously with architects, FHIR engineers, developers, testers, onboarding teams, and external partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of software integration engineering experience.
• Proven experience developing healthcare interfaces using HL7 v2 and MLLP.
• Ability to work independently and communicate technical requirements clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Government/Public Trust clearance.
