People Systems Administrator, Workday

About the role

Vanta is seeking a People Systems Administrator to lead the design, configuration, and optimization of its Workday platform. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, People Systems, you will partner with People, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal leaders to deliver scalable solutions that enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking) including business processes, security groups, condition rules, and calculated fields.
• Act as the primary technical expert for Workday enhancements, translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Establish administration frameworks such as security role design, tenant management, change control, testing protocols, and documentation.
• Manage change communication, training, and enablement to ensure smooth adoption of system updates.
• Continuously analyze Workday processes and integrations to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Monitor Workday release cycles, assess feature impact, conduct regression testing, and prioritize new functionality across stakeholders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in HRIS/People Systems with hands‑on Workday configuration and administration.
• Deep expertise in at least one Workday module (Payroll, Benefits, or Absence) and working knowledge of the others.
• Workday certification preferred.
