Part‑Time Acupuncturist

About the role

Ochsner Health Center is seeking a part‑time acupuncturist to deliver skilled, safe acupuncture services in accordance with physician orders. This role supports a compassionate, inclusive team dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized acupuncture care plans.
• Provide safe acupuncture interventions and collaborate with physicians and other departments to achieve patient goals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate status effectively to patients, families, and staff.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ACAOM‑approved acupuncture program.
• National Board Certification (NCBAHM) and a current state license as a registered acupuncturist.
• Preferred: 2 years of recent acupuncture experience (1850 hours of training) and Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathology relevant to acupuncture.
• Ability to locate acupuncture points and apply appropriate therapeutic techniques.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, data entry and electronic health record systems.
