Human Resources Director - Operations

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a seasoned Human Resources Director to lead operations at Chattahoochee Technical College. This senior position oversees compensation, benefits, employee relations, EEO/AA, civil rights investigations, workers’ compensation and FMLA, ensuring compliance and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily HR operations across compensation, classification, benefits, employee relations, EEO/AA, OCR investigations, workers’ compensation and FMLA.
• Develop and communicate policies on benefits, compensation, leave, and employee relations; advise managers on discipline, terminations and performance improvement.
• Maintain accurate compensation and classification files, conduct salary reviews, and support benchmarking and job description management.
• Prepare reports and analytics on hiring trends, compensation, EEO/AA compliance and annual reporting requirements.
• Lead a high‑performing HR team, provide staff training, and represent the college on committees and special projects.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum two years of full‑time HR experience; senior‑level experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex HR functions and supervise staff.
• Experience in a state agency or higher education environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
