HR Generalist

About the role

This HR Generalist position in Amarillo, TX supports payroll, records, and recruiting functions, ensuring accurate employee compensation and a smooth hiring process. The role blends administrative precision with strategic HR initiatives to enhance employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll, track hours, overtime, PTO, and handle wage garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
• Create and post job ads, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and guide new hires through onboarding.
• Maintain audit‑ready digital personnel files, update employee handbooks, resolve workplace conflicts, and support performance reviews and benefits administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
• 2–4 years of combined experience in HR, payroll, and recruiting.
• Preferred certifications: SHRM‑CP, PHR, or Certified Payroll Professional.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; experience in civil construction or heavy‑equipment environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with payroll, time‑keeping, and applicant tracking systems.
• Familiarity with Sage, HCSS, and Employee Navigator platforms.
• Strong understanding of labor laws, payroll tax rules, and data‑management/reporting tools.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and ability to generate detailed reports.
