Group Lead, Procurement

About the role

ABB Drive Products, part of the Motion business and Supply Chain Management function in the United States, is looking for a Group Lead, Procurement based on site in New Berlin, Wisconsin. The role leads a team that executes purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize the cost, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager - Drive Products.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure relevant parties understand strategies and align local procurement activities with division strategy
• Run improvement programs for cost, quality and delivery in line with group guidelines and division objectives
• Secure full use of the SAP Ariba platform for sharing supplier information and finding high-performing suppliers
• Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts
• Ensure material availability for daily manufacturing and planned inventory levels
• Act as tactical leader for the supply chain, coordinating consistent practices across manufacturing lines and achieving cost-effective logistics and inventory while meeting customer delivery requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, planning and/or operational excellence in the electronics industry or with EMS suppliers
• Demonstrated track record of team leadership, mentorship or formal training
• Excellent relationships with suppliers, engineers and customer service, and ability to manage a diverse global supply base
• Valid US driver's license, US passport and US work authorization

Required skills

• SAP ECC, SAP S4 HANA and SAP Ariba
• Celonis and business intelligence tools
