Engineering Technician

About the role

Join Alcon's R&D Process & Product Design team in Lake Forest, CA, providing hands‑on technical support for medical device product design and development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in testing, documentation, and compliance activities, ensuring accurate test result records.
• Perform routine product evaluations, maintain lab equipment, and collect data to support research.
• Troubleshoot product design issues while adhering to regulatory and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (or high school + 8 years, Associate + 4 years).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
• Prior engineering or technician experience in testing, fixture development, or product assembly, preferably in medical devices.

Required skills

• Fluidics, mechanics, optics, electronics, interface programming, lasers.
• Electro‑mechanical and opto‑mechanical device knowledge.
• Experience with test methods, protocol writing, and pre‑clinical/wet‑lab sample preparation.
