Manager, Quality Operations, R&D Quality Assurance

About the role

At Alcon, the Manager, Quality Operations, R&D Quality Assurance leads the design, deployment and monitoring of quality systems for Instrumentation R&D. The role ensures compliance with global, local and internal regulations, supporting the mission to enhance sight and eye health.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor Quality Systems, including training, change control, non‑conformances, investigations and CAPAs.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct audits, control documents and ensure compliance with GxP regulations.
• Lead individual R&D projects, develop QA strategies, allocate resources and maintain accurate documentation.
• Identify and update Standard Operating Procedures and guide R&D personnel in compliant product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 5 years of relevant quality assurance experience.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Lake Forest, CA, Monday‑Friday 8 am‑5 pm CST, with up to 10 % travel.
• Preferred background in medical device or other regulated industry.
