Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate

About the role

The USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate to join the ENABLE Lab. The role supports an NIDCR‑funded clinical trial evaluating sensory‑adapted dental environments for children, working on‑site at USC’s Health Sciences Campus and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, consent, and schedule pediatric participants for the clinical trial.
• Collect behavioral, physiological, and other study data in clinical settings.
• Manage, clean, analyze, and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate software.
• Operate and maintain research equipment, ensuring calibration and quality checks.
• Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and other research documentation.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate completed within the past five years.
• Experience with human‑participant, clinical, or behavioral research, preferably with children.
• Strong written and oral scientific communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
• Experience using statistical software, data‑management software, or qualitative‑analysis software.
• Experience collecting physiological or behavioral data and operating related equipment (helpful).
