ED Paramedic PRN Mid‑Shifts

About the role

The Emergency Department (ED) Paramedic provides direct patient care on a PRN (as‑needed) basis during mid‑shifts. Working under physician supervision, the paramedic delivers wound care, medication administration, and other emergency treatments to support the ED team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical treatment of wounds, administer medications per protocol, draw blood, place splints, insert Foley catheters, and manage IV fluids.
• Document patient care accurately, support physicians and nursing staff, and comply with EMTALA regulations and hospital policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved Paramedic program.
• Current Paramedic license in the state of practice and certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) as a Paramedic.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications to be obtained within specified timeframes.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, data entry, and computer‑based documentation systems.
