Compensation Consultant

About the role

The Compensation section of LSU's Office of Human Resource Management manages classification and pay for over 5,300 academic, professional and classified positions. This role provides consulting, research, training and market analysis to ensure equitable compensation practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform research, analysis, and approval of professional, academic and classified positions, including appointments, title changes, pay adjustments and layoff processes.
• Serve as a compensation consultant, advising departments and colleges on classification and pay matters.
• Assist in developing and delivering compensation training curriculum for internal and external users.
• Support special projects related to compensation, including Workday testing.
• Conduct market research, benchmark surveys, and compile CUPA data for reporting and quality control.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Ability to perform classification, pay analysis, and provide consultative guidance in accordance with campus policy and state regulations.
