About the role
The Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager supports daily operations of the athletic equipment department, handling laundry services, uniform distribution, equipment inventory, and game‑day setup. This part‑time role works closely with coaches, student‑athletes, and athletics staff to ensure equipment is ready for practices, competitions, and travel.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with distribution, collection, fitting, organization, maintenance, and storage of athletic equipment and apparel.
- Maintain accurate equipment inventories and conduct periodic counts.
- Inspect equipment for condition, cleanliness, and functionality; report issues.
- Prepare and organize equipment for practices, competitions, team travel, and other events.
- Operate department laundry equipment and process uniforms, practice gear, towels, and other apparel.
- Load, unload, and transport equipment between university facilities and other locations.
- Provide limited direction to student workers and communicate equipment needs to the Head Equipment Manager.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and athletic competitions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate university vehicles as required.
