University Vehicle Driver

About the role

The University Vehicle Driver ensures safe, reliable transportation for students, staff, and equipment to university‑sponsored events and programs. This position demands a strong focus on safety, customer service, and compliance with university and state transportation policies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate university‑owned vans or cars for scheduled trips, events, and programs while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections, log mileage, fuel usage, and promptly report maintenance issues.
• Provide courteous, professional service to passengers and assist with loading or unloading when needed.
• Follow emergency procedures for accidents, breakdowns, or medical incidents and support departmental operations as assigned.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record (CDL may be required depending on vehicle type) and minimum age of 21.
• Previous professional driving experience preferred and ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to safety, and willingness to obtain CPR certification.
• Pass background check and university driving clearance process.

• Valid driver’s license (and CDL if required).
