Software Engineer, Applied AI

About the role

Rilla is building AI‑powered systems that let users talk to the platform as they would a human. As a Software Engineer on the Applied AI team you will help create voice‑first interfaces, searchable audio insights, and a robust audio intelligence pipeline for real‑world, noisy conversations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and ship AI‑driven services that process and index real‑world audio data.
• Develop end‑to‑end pipelines from data acquisition through real‑time inference and user‑facing chat interfaces.
• Collaborate with customers to understand needs and translate them into product features.

Required profile

• Passionate about building production AI/LLM systems.
• Comfortable working directly with customers in fast‑paced, high‑intensity environments.
• Willingness to work ~60 hours/week onsite with an ambitious team.

Required skills

• Python and TypeScript programming.
• FastAPI for API development.
• Experience with PyTorch, OpenAI APIs, Baseten, LiteLLM.
• Cloud infrastructure on AWS and real‑time communications with LiveKit.
• Data storage using PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3.
